Alt text: DanPat Rugby community trip to Murrayfield for Scotland v Italy, Six Nations 2027
To check before publishing:
- Kick-off date/time (6 Feb 2027, 15:10 CET) and the RWC 2027 details are NOT in the video: added as verified context.
- The trip programme is not online yet (Danpat says so): the piece points to the «request info» form.
- «Slightly higher prices» and «more complicated logistics» vs Wales reported as said, no figures.
- The World Cup «half project» is a teaser: kept as such, nothing invented.
Italy’s 2027 Six Nations begins in Edinburgh: Scotland v Italy, Saturday 6 February, 15:10 CET, Murrayfield. And DanPat Rugby wants to be there with its community, as it was a year earlier in Cardiff. In the video reviewing his first year in Treviso, Danpat previewed the new website’s page dedicated to the trip and explained how it will work.
How does the Scotland 2027 trip work?
From the danpatrugby.com homepage you scroll down to the events section, where you find the page Scotland 2027 — Community trip. The programme is not published yet; what is there is a “request info” button that opens a form. Its purpose is to gauge how many people want to go to Edinburgh, and to reply to everyone as quickly as possible.
The trip is designed for anyone: groups of friends, lads from a club side, parents, but also people travelling alone who don’t know who to organise an away trip with. That, Danpat says, is the beauty of it: giving a chance to people who love rugby but don’t have a group to travel with.
The lesson of Wales
The model is Cardiff 2026, the first community trip: three “beautiful, intense” days, with a good balance between time together, time alone and the stadium. Italy lost (31-17 to Wales), the Under-20s won (20-13 in Newport), and even those who weren’t yet die-hard rugby fans, Danpat says, still talk about it. A couple of things to improve were noted down.
Edinburgh, though, is a different story logistically: more complicated, and slightly more expensive than Wales. They want to do it anyway, because last year “it was worth it for everyone”.
World Cup year, dot dot dot
Then there is a teaser, deliberately left hanging. 2027 is the year of the Rugby World Cup in Australia, from 1 October to 13 November, with Italy in Pool B alongside South Africa, Georgia and Romania. Danpat talks about “half an idea, half a project”, and a lesson learned: last time he started a series presenting every World Cup team, but got too close to the finish line and it was left half done.
“This year I won’t get caught out at the last minute.”
This time, he says, they are working on it well in advance. First, though, comes Murrayfield: and a trip written together with the community, starting from a form.
